Open to candidates across British Columbia! We are seeking an experienced Civil Marine Estimator to join our team in Duncan, BC. This role is ideal for someone with hands-on contractor-side experience who can independently develop estimates and contribute practical construction insight on marine infrastructure projects.

Compensation

  • Base salary of $95,000 – $140,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
    • Intermediate (3–7 years): $95k – $120k
    • Senior (8+ years): $120k – $135k+

What You’ll Do

  • Prepare independent cost estimates and tender submissions for marine and heavy civil projects (typically up to $3M)
  • Perform quantity takeoffs, pricing, and scope development based on drawings and specifications
  • Develop construction methodologies and execution strategies that reflect real-world site conditions
  • Identify, assess, and cost project risks and scope gaps
  • Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing
  • Contribute to pricing strategy, bid competitiveness, and profit optimization
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure constructability and delivery alignment

What You Bring

  • 3+ years of contractor-side estimating experience in marine or heavy civil construction
  • Proven ability to prepare estimates independently (not limited to supporting roles)
  • Strong understanding of marine construction methods and sequencing
  • Experience working on projects up to ~$3 million in value
  • Practical knowledge of labor, equipment, production rates, and site constraints
  • Proficiency with estimating tools and Microsoft Office

Strongly Preferred

  • Hands-on field experience as a Foreperson, Superintendent, or similar site-based role
  • Experience contributing to method statements, construction planning, and execution strategies
