We’re looking for a skilled Fabricator / Steel Fitter who thrives on precision, problem-solving, and hands-on custom fabrication. If you can read a drawing, fit steel with confidence, and take pride in high-quality workmanship, this role is for you.

You’ll work in a fast-paced production environment fabricating structural steel, standard company products, and one-off custom components, ensuring everything fits perfectly before final welding and finishing.

Compensation

  • $30 to $35 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications

What You’ll Do

  • Read, interpret, and work from blueprints, shop drawings, and fabrication specifications
  • Measure, layout, cut, fit, align, and assemble structural steel and custom components
  • Ensure proper tolerances and fit-up prior to welding or finishing
  • Build and use jigs, fixtures, and templates for production and custom work
  • Perform tack welding to secure components for final weld
  • Operate fabrication equipment including brakes, shears, punches, rollers, saws, bending machines, flame and plasma cutters
  • Modify, retrofit, and repair existing metal structures
  • Conduct technical inspections to verify fit, alignment, and dimensional accuracy
  • Monitor material usage and report shortages, defects, or quality concerns
  • Assist with fabrication and repair estimates
  • Provide input for production, quality, and management reports
  • Support project planning, timelines, and budgets
  • Collaborate closely with Managers, Welders, and the Design Department
  • Review drawings to ensure designs are practical, manufacturable, and fit for purpose
  • Train, support, and verify the work of junior employees and apprentices
  • Track time accurately using the company app
  • Maintain safe work practices and detailed documentation
  • Stay current with fabrication techniques, equipment, and industry standards
  • Perform other duties as required

What You Bring

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Proven experience as a Fabricator, Steel Fitter, or similar role
  • Strong blueprint reading and drawing interpretation skills
  • Experience with custom fabrication and structural steel fitting
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to work independently in a busy, time-sensitive production environment
  • Experience with routine maintenance of fabrication equipment
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and quality
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Computer literacy
  • Professional, tactful, and respectful approach at all times
  • Flexible and team-oriented mindset
