K2 Stone Kelowna, a division of The Hazelwood Group, is seeking a Sales Representative to join the team in Kelowna, BC. This is a full-time, Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM position.
We’re seeking an individual with a background in retail, particularly in areas like construction, building materials, home renovation, or tool rental, to fill this role. The ideal candidate is someone eager to advance their sales career. Expect a job that demands physical activity and interaction with customers, so being in good shape, comfortable standing for extended periods, capable of lifting at least 75 lbs., and possessing a friendly demeanor are essential. Experience with forklift operation is a bonus, as is an understanding that the role involves both indoor and outdoor work – a little dirt is par for the course!
Based out of the K2 Stone showroom in Kelowna, the Sales Representative will deliver top-notch customer service throughout the sales process, catering to a diverse clientele including homeowners, masons, architects, contractors, and designers. Building positive relationships is key for fostering repeat business.

Compensation
- Base salary ranging from $35,000 to $55,000 per year, contingent on experience and qualifications.
- Commission ranging from 4.5% to 5.5% for gross margin dollars earned at the K2 Stone Kelowna location
- Potential total compensation including base salary and commission up to $90,000 per year.
Summary
The Sales Representative is responsible for driving sales and marketing efforts for K2 Kelowna, including overseeing the showroom and storage facility at 1610 Innovation Drive, Kelowna, B.C. This role involves promoting our natural stone products to custom home builders, masons, architects, designers, and residential homeowners. Key responsibilities include managing the showroom, generating leads, conducting site visits, delivering presentations, attending trade shows, and maintaining an active call schedule to build strong customer relationships.
The Sales Representative will manage the entire sales cycle, including material take-offs, quotations, order coordination, project delivery, and payment processing. As a brand ambassador, this role focuses on achieving sales quotas, providing exceptional customer service, and ensuring a positive brand experience while upholding the company’s professional image.
Job Duties
- Visit job sites to deliver professional presentations and conduct product demonstrations.
- Oversee showroom operations, including providing excellent customer service, preparing orders, organizing trucks, and ensuring accurate invoicing and product receiving.
- Develop and maintain expertise in K2’s products, industry standards, installation practices, and natural stone applications.
- Participate in tradeshows, golf tournaments, building association events, and other sales and marketing activities.
- Manage outgoing orders, shipping/receiving, and truck scheduling.
- Verify account standing before extending credit and follow up on outstanding receivables.
- Maintain regular client contact to ensure satisfaction, address complaints, and foster strong relationships.
- Highlight product features and benefits, provide quotes, discuss terms, prepare sales orders, and grow customer accounts through networking and cold calling.
- Stay updated on new products, competitor activities, and industry trends.
- Represent the company professionally with tact and diplomacy in all interactions.
- Prepare accurate reports, assist with RFP responses, and complete necessary documentation.
- Resolve customer concerns effectively while prioritizing the company’s and customers’ best interests.
- Collaborate with team members to contribute to the company’s overall success through proactive decision-making and teamwork.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of sales and account management experience.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, Outlook, and accounting software.
- Proven ability to close sales with executive-level clients.
- Skilled in building and maintaining relationships with corporate departments, partners, and stakeholders.
- Effective communicator with diverse audiences.
- Experienced in assessing client needs, creating proposals, and delivering solutions.
- Knowledge of retail/wholesale sales principles and techniques.
- Strong negotiation and diplomacy skills.
- Confident public speaker with presentation experience.
- Ability to write clear and concise value propositions.
- Strong problem-solving and resolution skills.
- Capable of organizing and conducting product demonstrations and events.
- Forklift operation experience preferred (training available).
- Valid driver’s license with a clean record and have access to aa vehicle.
- Physically capable of lifting up to 75 lbs. and performing heavy-lifting tasks.
- Regular forklift operation required for order preparation.
- Available to work Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM.
