Jewel Welding Fabrication and Coatings Ltd., a division of The Hazelwood Group, is seeking for a Skilled Labourer to join the team in Maple Ridge and at various project sites around the Province. This is a full-time, year-round position with plenty of opportunity for overtime. Reliable transportation is required as we are not accessible by transit.

Compensation
- $30 to $35 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
Summary
The Skilled Labourer is responsible for performing physically demanding tasks both in the shop and on project sites across BC. This role involves operating various hand and power tools, as well as larger equipment such as Zoom Booms and Bobcats. Key duties include site preparation, power washing, sandblasting, assisting Welders, Fabricators, and Painters, and ensuring work areas remain clean and free of debris. The Skilled Labourer will also work frequently with high-pressure air and fluid systems.
Job Duties
- Operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
- Use and maintain larger equipment such as Zoom Booms and Bobcats.
- Prepare work areas and project sites by cleaning, organizing, and setting up materials.
- Perform power washing and sandblasting as required.
- Assist Welders, Fabricators, and Painters with various tasks.
- Remove rubble, debris, and hazardous materials from work areas.
- Handle and operate high-pressure air and fluid systems.
- Follow all safety protocols and ensure work areas comply with safety regulations.
- Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment at job sites.
- Perform general shop and site maintenance to support overall operations.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding job progress and site conditions.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support project completion.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as a construction laborer.
- Knowledge of workplace safety and safe lifting and handling procedures.
- Welding experience an asset.
- Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner.
- Effective verbal and listening communications skills.
- Must possess a valid Driver’s license.
- Must be willing to work out of town as needed.
- Knowledge of appropriate materials, methods, and the tools required in various construction processes.
- Ability to readily determine the correct tools and equipment needed to do a job.
- Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to a work schedule.
- Must be physically fit with the ability to lift heavy objects, walk and stand for long periods of time, perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions, and keep up a fast pace.
