Matakana Scaffolding, a division of The Hazelwood Group, is seeking a full-time Outside Sales Representative to join our team in Burnaby, BC.
This role centers mainly at our Burnaby, BC office, with possible travel within Canada and the USA for client meetings and trade shows. We’re seeking a candidate with a strong background in driving product sales growth and a sharp eye for business expansion opportunities. Essential qualifications include hands-on construction experience, proficiency in outbound sales techniques such as cold calling, and a knack for product marketing.

Compensation
- $90,000 to $110,000 base salary per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
- Commission is unlimited and paid on sales, rentals, and labour. Rental commissions particularly stand out for their potential profitability, as equipment rentals can extend for months.
Summary
The Outside Sales Representative plays a pivotal role in boosting rental sales for scaffolding and other associated equipment. This role centers around meeting sales targets, cultivating distribution channels, nurturing vital business relationships, innovating in business development, and maintaining cost-effective sales practices within budget constraints.
Job Duties
- Visit client jobsites and offices to promote the equipment and services.
- Execute strategic marketing initiatives.
- Perform in-depth market research and analysis.
- Coordinate order shipments within the supply chain.
- Utilize outbound sales strategies, such as engaging in cold-calling initiatives.
- Prepare precise estimates and quotes.
- Promote the organization’s mission and values internally and externally.
- Evaluate operational competitiveness.
- Stay abreast of internal and external developments to identify new market segments.
- Develop and execute distribution strategies, reselling agreements, and growth opportunities.
- Collaborate with the executive team to shape short- and long-term strategic plans.
- Provide sales-driven insights for strategic planning.
- Communicate brand identity to relevant stakeholders.
- Create product segmentation strategies as needed to maximize sales channels.
- Cultivate and manage new business accounts and partnerships to meet profit and volume targets.
- Develop execution strategies and tactics.
- Regularly analyze pricing effectiveness and market trends.
- Generate sales forecasts and periodic status reports.
- Participate in planning events to promote company services.
- Contribute to the development of continuous client feedback processes.
- Plan and monitor the marketing budget.
- Perform other necessary duties.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or College diploma in business, a related field, or a combination of education and practical sales or construction experience.
- Minimum 3 years of direct experience in sales, with a focus on brand management and promotion.
- Previous involvement in the scaffolding industry or sales of construction and industrial equipment.

- Proficiency in CRM development and maintenance.
