Compensation

  • $40-$50 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications

Summary

The Lattice Boom Crane Operator will work under the direction of the Foreman as part of a 4-5 person crew, primarily focused on marine construction tasks from a barge. Key responsibilities include loading and unloading materials and equipment, pile driving, and occasional drilling and dredging.

This role requires flexibility for out-of-town work and the ability to work overtime when needed.

The ideal candidate is a dedicated, team-oriented individual with a strong work ethic and positive attitude. They should be skilled at following instructions, handling equipment responsibly, and fostering good relationships within the team.

Job Duties

  • Safely operate a conventional lattice boom, friction, or crawler crane to perform marine construction tasks such as loading and unloading materials, moving equipment, and assisting with pile driving operations.
  • Set up and operate crane equipment for pile driving operations, ensuring proper alignment, depth, and safety protocols are followed.
  • Assist in various marine construction activities from a barge, including dredging and drilling operations as required.
  • Ensure safe and efficient loading and unloading of materials, equipment, and supplies from barges or other vessels.
  • Work alongside a four/five-person crew to complete tasks in a safe, efficient, and timely manner. Communicate effectively with team members and the Foreman to ensure smooth operations.
  • Conduct routine inspections of the crane and related equipment, reporting any malfunctions or maintenance needs to the Foreman or maintenance team.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures to minimize risk of accidents. Ensure personal protective equipment (PPE) is worn at all times and participate in safety meetings and training.
  • Be available to work out of town for projects when necessary and remain flexible for overtime or extended hours to meet project deadlines.
  • Follow all instructions from the Foreman, supervisors, and other team members to ensure tasks are completed according to specifications and safety standards.
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and respect for equipment and team members at all times.
  • Complete any required logs, reports, or documentation as requested, including daily crane operations and maintenance records.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of experience operating a conventional lattice boom, friction, crawler crane.
  • Certified Mobile Crane Operator.
  • Preference given to candidates residing in the Duncan area.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must hold a valid driver’s license.
