We’re looking for an experienced Estimator who can prepare precise, full-cost project estimates, including labour and materials. This role is key to ensuring our bids are competitive—and profitable. You’ll work closely with our Operations team to deliver accurate tenders and identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality.

Compensation

  • $100,000 to $140,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications

What You’ll Do

  • Create detailed cost estimates using Explorer and/or Heavy Bid software
  • Prepare and submit competitive tenders and proposals
  • Proactively search for new project opportunities (BC Bid, Journal of Commerce, Yellow Sheet, networking, etc.)
  • Review drawings, specs, and site conditions
  • Collaborate with Ops team on bid strategy and reviews
  • Support Project Managers after successful bids
  • Help drive cost efficiency in materials and equipment
  • Attend kickoff meetings and contribute to smooth project handovers
  • Other estimating-related tasks as needed

What You Bring

  • Diploma or degree in Construction, Engineering, Project Management, or related field
  • 2+ years of mechanical industry estimating experience
  • Solid understanding of welding, steel fabrication, and civil construction practices
  • Excellent blueprint reading and estimating skills
  • Proficient with estimating and project software (Excel, Word, Explorer, Heavy Bid, etc.)
  • Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills
  • Knowledge of workplace regulations and contract fundamentals
  • Valid driver’s license
