We’re looking for a hands-on, adaptable Shop & Trucking Support team member to keep our crews moving and our projects on track. You’ll work closely with the Trucking Manager, tackling everything from small tool repairs and jobsite deliveries to assisting crews in the field and operating equipment. With your Class 1 license, you’ll also be our go-to spare driver when trucking operations need an extra hand.

Union rates apply and all benefits are provided through the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 115.

Compensation

  • $26.00 – $30.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications
  • Vacation pay: 13% of your hourly wage
  • Benefits eligibility: After completing 250 hours
  • Pension contributions: $5.00 per hour worked

What You’ll Do

  • Keep our shop organized and ready for action – tools, materials, and gear for all job sites.
  • Deliver materials to jobsites using flat-deck or bin trucks.
  • Jump in with crews for pipelaying, manhole and catch basin installs, and other surface works.
  • Operate rock trucks, loaders, forklifts, zoom booms, and other equipment as needed.
  • Provide Class 1 trucking support when drivers are away or during busy periods.
  • Tackle whatever else comes your way – no two days are the same.

What You Bring

  • Valid Class 1 driver’s license and Forklift certification.
  • Experience in a similar role, with solid knowledge of construction equipment and site operations.
  • Familiarity with Vancouver Island geography.
  • Computer literacy and strong communication skills.
  • Problem-solving chops, great organization, and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Physical fitness to meet the demands of the job.
  • Flexibility for overtime, evenings, weekends, and varied shifts.
