Pacific Industrial & Marine Ltd., a division of The Hazelwood Group, is seeking for a full-time Field Welder to join the team of hard-working, dedicated staff at its Duncan-based facility.

Compensation

  • $30-$55 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.

Summary

As a Field Welder, you will be an integral part of a 4-5 person construction crew, reporting directly to the Foreman. This role involves field-based welding and general construction work on both land-based projects and marine worksites, including crane barges. When not welding, you will actively assist with pile driving, dock construction, and equipment operations, including handling crane rigging and using various power tools. This position requires versatility, adaptability, and a hands-on attitude, with a willingness to occasionally travel and work overtime when necessary.

Job Duties

  • Perform welding tasks using various processes (stick, wire feed) in all positions.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and project specifications.
  • Collaborate with the crew in general construction duties, including pile driving and dock building.
  • Operate hand and power tools such as chainsaws, grinders, and drills.
  • Assist with crane rigging and safe material handling procedures.
  • Follow all safety protocols and procedures as outlined by the company and project guidelines.
  • Maintain equipment and tools in good working order.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
  • Be available for out-of-town assignments and overtime as required.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Welder in a construction or industrial setting.
  • Proficient in all welding positions (flat, vertical, overhead) using wire feed and stick welding.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and welding process specifications.
  • Comfortable working in remote and marine environments in various weather conditions.
  • Physically fit and capable of lifting, bending, and working in confined or elevated spaces.
  • Strong team player with a positive attitude and a willingness to assist with all crew tasks.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
