We are seeking a skilled Industrial Painter to join our team. This role is responsible for the preparation and application of industrial coatings on fabricated steel products and piping systems. Using spray, brush, or roll techniques, the painter will apply high-performance coatings in accordance with project specifications and industry standards.

Compensation

  • $28 to $32 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.

What You’ll Do

  • Apply protective and decorative coatings to metal components using airless, HVLP, and conventional spray systems.
  • Perform surface preparation including sandblasting, grinding, and chemical cleaning.
  • Mix coatings to manufacturer specifications and apply primers, topcoats, and specialty finishes (epoxy, urethane, zinc-rich, etc.).
  • Conduct masking, taping, and surface protection as required.
  • Inspect finished surfaces for defects, coverage, and adhesion to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Maintain equipment, spray booths, and clean work areas.
  • Collaborate with fabrication, welding, and quality control teams to meet production schedules.
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures, including use of PPE, WHMIS, and MSDS guidelines.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives in coating application processes.
  • Assist with general shop duties, internal linings, or other tasks as assigned.

What You Bring

  • Minimum 2 years of industrial painting or sandblasting experience in a fabrication or welding environment.
  • Familiarity with SSPC/NACE surface preparation standards.
  • Ability to read blueprints, isometric drawings, and work orders.
  • Understanding of specialty coatings and corrosion protection methods.
  • Experience with airless, HVLP, and conventional spray systems.
  • Comfortable working in tight spaces and at heights; physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • WHMIS certification required; confined space and fall protection training are assets.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality and safety.
  • Ability to distinguish colors and conduct visual quality inspections.
